From northern Philippines comes the all-time classic--the hardwood capiz window panel. The capiz window is now a classic Filipino architectural feature. All-natural--made of tropical hardwoods and bivalve shells--and held together by pegs or dowels. Why get dowelled? Because you can no longer get this kind of master craftmanship. These are marketed in the West as "exotic windowpane oyster panels."



How to use capiz? Some great design/function ideas:

MINI DOOR - sliding, cabinet, kitchen, swing-type, etc.
DIVIDER - to cover unwanted spaces
UNIQUE HEADBOARD for beds
GLASS-TOP COUNTER for nooks, bars, etc.
LIGHT DIFFUSER, for that translucent glow
WALL ACCENT OR DECOR, instead of the usual frames and prints
TABLE - cover it with an attractive glass top, for low, coffee, desk, etc.
