The Career Institute of American International College is seeking experienced Healthcare professionals to join our Adjunct faculty team in training the next generation of Medical Assistants, Coders, and Billers.
DEFINITION:
To guide students through one of our extensive healthcare professional programs, covering all aspects of professional healthcare including medical administration procedures, medical coding and billing guidelines, medical assisting and patient care, and the ethics and laws of the medical profession. The objective is to provide the student with the necessary knowledge and credentials to obtain entry level positions in the professional healthcare field upon completion of program and certifications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide students with a complete syllabus containing course objectives on the first day of class. Present enthusiastic, well prepared, organized, and clear lectures and classroom activities consistent with the course syllabus. Assist students in their quest for a career and provide the student with timely information and feedback on his/her academic progress relative to quizzes, tests, homework and projects. Actively maintain student retention by keeping accurate daily attendance records, maintain student classroom records, and communicating any attendance concerns to administration. Utilize a variety of teaching techniques to accommodate the learning styles of a diverse student enrollment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training, and Experience
Possess or qualify for a current certification in the assigned healthcare program. (CMA, RMA, CPC, CBCS, CMAA, etc.)
Formal training in the assigned program is preferred.
To qualify, the minimum requirement is verification by previous employers of two years of full-time, paid or non-paid, work experience directly related to one or more of the assigned program.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
General knowledge of the assigned program and related certifications; ability to follow instructions and work independently without constant supervision; analyze and evaluate abilities and aptitudes and prescribe instructional techniques and methods to assist persons in reading outlined performance objectives; interpersonal skills to gain the interest, respect, and cooperation of students; problem solving skills to analyze instructional situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action to
obtain maximum learning; ability to implement behavior modification techniques into practical situations; ability to communicate effectively; skill to effectively use and operate audio-visual and other equipment normally used for instructing this occupation.
