Responsible for scheduling surgery with OR for room, anesthisia, dr, nurses, providing NPO orders to patient and family, coding surgeries and calling for authorization with insurance companies, sending in appeal letters or having to speak with appeal department helping dr with small in-office procedures by sterilizing equipment, setting up procedure tray and assisting dr with procedure. Looking up medical terminology to determine code for insurance. Scheduling follow-up visit, checking in patients in the office, taking blood pressure, temperature, weight and height and heart rate. Translating from English to Spanish when needed.
