Key Responsibilities
• Act as a medical language specialist, transcribe dictation by physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding patient assessment, workup, therapeutic procedures, clinical course, diagnosis, and prognosis in order to document patient care and facilitate delivery of healthcare services.
• Partner with physicians and healthcare professionals to get clarification on specific questions and terminology.
• Ensure accuracy of transcribed documents according to the latest Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI) Book of Style guidelines and timely transmission according to Client Service Level Agreements.
• Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical medicine, surgery, diagnostic tests, radiology, pathology, pharmacology, and various medical specialties as required within area of responsibility.
• Knowledge, understanding, and compliance with all applicable Federal and Local laws and regulations relating to job duties.
• Maintain knowledge of medical transcription guidelines and industry best practices.
• Provide feedback to management concerning possible problems or areas of improvement.
• Make recommendations to implement improved processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Skills Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Medical or Allied Medical courses or equivalent in relevant work experience.
• At least 6 months training in Medical Transcription required.
• Must have at least minimum typing speed of 25 words per minute, and transcription speed between 300-350 lines per day at 90-93% accuracy.
• Excellent listening skills and eye, hand, and auditory coordination.
• Ability to use designated professional reference materials.
• Ability to operate designated word processing, dictation, and transcription equipment, and other equipment as specified.
• Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
• Proficient personal computer and keyboarding skills including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills including use of English grammar, punctuation, and style. Ability to understand diverse accents and dialects and varying dictation styles.
• Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.
• Ability to work in a team fostered environment.
• Ability to work in a multi-tasked environment.
• Ability to prioritize and organize work.
• Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule.
Technical requirements:
• Must have High speed internet, no less than 1mbps for download, and .3mbps for upload
