Responsibilities:
Suggest design templates and site frameworks for the ongoing roll-out of many sites with strong SEO principles.
Develop the architecture of the site in co-ordination with the designer/developer
Technical advice on website development: for example, hosting, redirects, error pages, use of JavaScript
Perform day-do-day Search Engine activities including researching, planning, analysing, and reporting SEO initiatives.
Research and report on how to increase visibility and ranking in organic search listings.
Work with the copywriter to develop and optimize content and to ‘tweak’ pages as, and when, required
Manually submit sites to search engine directories, search engines and trade boards etc. Legitimate link building.
Monitor website traffic to ensure ongoing campaign success through regular performance reporting and analysis.
Analyse our sites and competitive sites to make ongoing recommendations and manage ongoing execution.
Requirements:
Understanding and knowledge of search engine features and functionality with at least 2+ years experience in the SEO/SEM industry.
Search Engine Optimization skills, research, and an understanding of how search engines and their spiders work.
Familiarity with, and the adherence to, Google Webmaster Guidelines (
http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=35769). No ‘black hat’ practices will be accepted or tolerated.
Understanding of web design elements and their effects on organic/natural optimization.
Strong problem solving skills for SEO. Find problems with websites and fix them quickly.
Knowledge of search engine ranking, traffic, and analysis software.
Communication skills / ability to communicate with partners, and staff.
Excellent written and communication skills, team player, and highly motivated.
Passion for online marketing.
